Chapter 2: Karma Bites

"I'm home" Shrike called loudly shutting the door behind him.

"Hi daddy!" Minney's voice called from the dining room. She ran to greet him, throwing her arms around his waist. "How was your day?"

"Good" He said smiling and held up a bag. "I've got something for you"

"Told ya" A voice from the opposite direction. It came from a girl with a mohawk who looked barely sixteen. Minney stuck her tongue out at her "You don't know everything, Ya know!"

Shrike tipped the bag over to let seven large colouring books flop to the ground.

"Oh thank you daddy!" She said, her sky blue eyes blazing. She let out a shrill whistle and a brown blur shot into the room and landed neatly on her shoulder. "Look Niko, Daddy brought more colouring books home" The bird made a soft cooing noise of agreement and ruffled his feathers clumsily. "Okay, go change then" she said impatiently.

"One of these days, he's going to leave." The Girl said to Minney wearily, and looked at Shrike "and one of these days, she's going to need another bookcase for all those colouring books."

"I know, but she loves them so much" he said a smile forming on his lips, then he look at Minney "Okay, go colour with Niko."

"Okay" She turned to the girl "Sheev, when are we going hunting again?"

"This evening" Sheeve said quietly, she always thought it was sad that the little girl had to hunt, but she seemed okay with it. She watched Minney wander off down the hall.

"That boy's going to leave us one of these days..." She said calmly.

"He's family now" Shrike said. He liked having Niko around, it gave him a reason to cook "Besides, it helps for her to have a friend. Oh, and your orange..." He said absent mindedly, due to the fact that Sheev's skin had just turned the shade of a pumpkin
"Minney, I swear, If you don't stop, I'm going to rip up all your colouring books!" She shouted at the hallway, a scurry of footsteps ran down the hall followed by a fit of giggles.

There is no reason to think Pandora acted out of malice in opening the jar, for she was exercising her curiosity, and also when she saw what was let out of it, she quickly closed it

Stolen Sunlight Chapter One

Chapter 1: Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200

"Alice!" Bella yelled. "What did you do?!?"
Reneesme stood in front of her in a long, sparkling, silk red dress. Alice strolled into the living room with a bemused look on her face. "If your not going to send her to school, the least you can do is let me dress her up..." She put an innocent look on her face "I love you, Sis"
"Oh whatever" She said, knowing she couldn't win.
They sat at the table, random bits of paper everywhere. Over the past few days Carlisle and Edward had been locked up in Carlisle's study, refusing to let anyone know why. So she had taken the opportunity to begin teaching Reneesme. With her age abnormality, then couldn't send her to school. She was only one, but she look like she was seven, and she was as smart as a ten year old.
"Eighteen time Forty-Six" She quizzed
"Eight hundred and twenty eight" She said without a pause, she was getting very good.
"Correct!" Bella said, distractedly as she watched Edward and Carlisle emerge from the hallway.
"Mommy!' Reneesme said impatiently "I'm Bored!"
"Why don't you go wake uncle Jake up" She suggested getting up and following Carlisle into the kitchen
"Okay you two, gigs up, spill it." She said annoyed that they had been hiding something for so long.
"C'mon, c'mon, they're gonna tell us!" She heard Alice's voice from the other room.
"Tell us what?" It was Esme's voice this time
"I don't know, C'mon!" she said entering the room with Rosalie and Esme attached to her at the wrist and Emmett laughing behind them.
"Alice..." Edward said slowly
"Oh shush... Your gonna cave anyway" She said rolling her eyes.
Edward sighed and glanced over at Carlisle.
"Just tell them..." Carlisle said wearily
Edward walked into the middle of the room, and Emmett eyes him seriously.
A worried look flashed across Bella's face; what had they been keeping from them. Edward never held anything from her
"Carlisle has been getting comments at work about his age..." Edward started slowly
Carlisle cut in. "I believe we've overstayed our welcome" He looked at Bella "We've lived in this house for years and our appearances haven't changed. Aside from clothes..." he said as an after thought and glanced at Alice, who beamed.
"Don't worry, we will come back to visit" He said quickly. He knew she wouldn't like it. And She didn't. She didn't want to move away from charlie, the wolf pack, she would even miss Mike Newton. Not aging caused that, but she didn't know it would be so soon.
"What'd I miss" Jacob yawned, walking into the room with Reneesme. Even though she was getting big, she had a supernaturally strong family, so it didn't matter.
"The move..." Edward said looking at Reneesme.
"Ahh..." He said knowingly
"You mean he knew too?" Bella Blurted out
"Yes, we had to work things out with his pack" Edward said cautiously
"What do you mean" she said suspiciously
"I'm coming with you Bells" He said happily
"But... your pack..." She said, this was too much information at one time.
"Taken Care of" He said smoothly
She let out a long breathe trying to take it all in.
"When do we leave?" she asked slowly
"Soon..."

Novocaine

While you read this, you start to become much more aware of your surroundings,

certain things that you were not aware of become more obvious,

such as the temperature of the room,

and small sounds like the buzzing of your computer.

You become very relaxed,

The more relaxed you get, the more you read.
The more you read, the more you relax.
Now imagine that Novocaine is being into the little finger of your left hand. You feel the slight prick of the needle in the tip of your little finger and then your finger starts to tingle the same as when you sleep on your arm or when some part of your body falls asleep. You feel your little finger tingle and then you feel the very tip to start to go numb. Imagine the Novocaine moving up the up your finger, as the tip goes numb, and then the first knuckle, and then the second knuckle, and then your whole little finger is numb all the way to where it meets your hand. Now your whole little finger is completely numb, like a fat lump of clay.

Now imagine the Novocaine moving into your next finger, the ring finger, as it starts to feel numb as well. Tell yourself that this next finger is feeling number and number, until it too feels like a lump of clay, or a fat piece of rubber. Now, both fingers are numb, fat, and rubbery

Now bend your thumb over and feel the two fingers at the other end of your hand. Those fingers are so numb that you can't really feel the thumb touching them, just a dull sensation of pressure.

Now, tell yourself that you've just imagined the whole thing, and your fingers feel perfectly normal, not numb at all, and you can feel sensations in them perfectly fine.
